スキポール空港の巨大時計の中に人間が！
人間が時計の中で針を手で描いていたのでビックリ！今話題のアートについて友人に知らせたい。

I have been to Schiphol Airport many times before, but during my most recent visit, I was surprised to find a man working inside a huge clock hanging from the ceiling of the airport building at Lounge 2.
The man wore a blue work uniform and was cleaning the clock hands with a cloth and painting the time minute by minute on the clock face. I was intrigued and wondered why the man was working inside the clock.
I found out later that it was an art piece. It was a video of a man, not a real man, moving inside the clock. The piece is part of the Real Time series created by a Dutch designer, Maarten Baas.
When you stop at Schiphol Airport next time, make sure you check out the interesting art piece!

これまでスキポール空港へは何度か行っているけれど、ついこの間行ったときに、巨大な時計の中で人間が働いていたのでビックリしたよ。時計は、第二ラウンジの天井から吊るされているんだけれどね。
ブルーの作業着を着た男が、雑巾で時計の針を拭いたり、時計の文字盤に一分毎に時刻を手書きしているんだ。どうして人間が時計の中で働いているのか、凄く不思議に思ったよ。
後で知ったんだけども、これはアート作品だったんだ。男はビデオであって、時計の中で動いていたのは生身の人間ではなかったんだ。この作品はリアルタイムシリーズという作品の一つで、オランダのデザイナー、 マーティン・バース氏の作品だったんだ。
今度スキポール空港に行くときは、この面白い作品を是非見てみて。
