海外にいる孫に送った雛人形が暖炉に飾ってあるのをZOOMで見ました。嬉しかったと書きたい。

I was so happy to meet you and Akari on Zoom last Sunday. It was exciting to see [Akari] crawling around! She's growing up so fast.
I was also happy to see Hina dolls being displayed on the mantelpiece in your apartment. It is a Japanese tradition to celebrate a baby girl's first spring with Hina dolls. They are said to protect a girl and bring her a happy married life in the future.
The day after Girls' Day, the Hina dolls must be stored away. If not, it is said that the girl will have a delayed marriage. Of course, these are old beliefs, but I hope that [Akari] may grow up to be a healthy and beautiful lady, and also meet a nice guy in the future.

先週の日曜日に、Zoomでお会いできて嬉しかった。[アカリ]がハイハイしているの見て興奮しちゃいました！子どもの成長って、ホント、早いわね。
アパートの暖炉の上にひな人形が飾ってあるのが見えました。生後最初の春にひな人形を飾ってお祝いするのは日本の伝統なの。娘を守り、幸せな結婚に導いてくれるって言われているのよ。
ひな人形はお祭りの次の日に片づけてね。そうでないと結婚が遅れるって言われているの。もちろん、古い言い伝えだけれど、[アカリ]には健康で美しい女性になって、将来素敵な旦那さんに巡り合って欲しいと願っているの。
