Once there was a mother mouse who had many baby mice. This mother mouse often told her baby mice about the world outside their own nest. She said, "Outside, the world is a very dangerous place. There are many different kinds of animals and they all hate mice. They all want to attack and to eat mice. That's why you must be very careful when you go into the world outside." One day it was a fine day. The sun was shining brightly, there was not a cloud in the sky and the green trees, grass and plants were shimmering at their best. The mother mouse said to her baby mice, "Since it's such a beautiful day, let's go outside for a walk. Remember that there are many dangerous animals out there, so be sure to stay close to me. "The mother mouse and her many baby mice set out for their walk. It was a beautiful day and they were all enjoying their walk. Suddenly, a big, black cat appeared.The black cat saw the mother mouse and all her many baby mice. The big black cat went up to the small mother mouse, looked down at her and said, menacingly and loudly, "MEEEOOOW!!!" The tiny mother mouse looked up at the big, towering black cat and said with all her might, "BOW-WOW !!!" The big black cat was so shocked that it could not move. The big black cat was frozen for a second. Then, it became extremely frightened, turned around swiftly and ran away as fast as it could. The mother mouse then turned to all her numerous baby mice and said, "You see what happened ? That's why I always say that it's important to study a foreign language." At Narita International Airport, Mrs. Miyao got on a plane bound for London. The flight was a long and very tiring one. Thirteen hours after leaving Narita, Mrs. Miyao finally arrived in London. Getting through customs took a long time and the bus from Heathrow Airport to central London moved slowly because of the rush hour traffic. When Mrs. Miyao finally reached the hotel, she was very tired. Mrs. Miyao went into the lobby of the hotel and up to the front desk. She was dressed in a black suit and her fair skin and her black shiny hair made her look like an attractive cat. The front desk clerk said,:Good afternoon. May I have your name,please?" Mrs. Miyao answered, "Miyao." The clerk couldn't catch thename, so he said,"I beg your pardon? Could you tell me your name onece more?" Mrs. Miyao was very tired. She felt irritated. So she decided to relpeat her name slowly,loudly and carefully, "Mill-yaaaa-ooooo !!!" The front desk clerk jumped back. He was surprised. He thought she was jokingm so he said, "Bow-wow!"
